How to Use the Polyglotton App

Welcome to Polyglotton! This guide will help you get started with the app and make the most of your language learning journey.

Getting Started

1. Access the App

Visit app.polyglotton.com in your web browser. No account or installation needed!

2. Choose Your Language Pair

Select the language you want to learn from (source) and the language you want to learn to (target).

Creating Your First Lesson

Option 1: Import from Library

  1. Visit the Lessons Library
  2. Browse the demo lessons by language pair
  3. Preview the phrases and exercises
  4. Click “Import to App” to add it to your collection

Option 2: Generate with AI

  1. Click “Create New Lesson” in the app
  2. Describe what you want to learn (e.g., “ordering food in a restaurant”)
  3. Choose your AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
  4. Enter your API key
  5. Generate the lesson

Option 3: Upload Your Own

  1. Create a JSON file following our lesson specification
  2. Upload it through the app’s import feature

Practicing Lessons

Card Types

Polyglotton uses various card types to help you learn:

  • Translation Cards: Translate phrases from source to target language
  • Reverse Cards: Translate from target back to source
  • Multiple Choice: Select the correct translation
  • Fill-in-the-Blank: Complete sentences with missing words
  • Listening: Hear and translate spoken phrases
  • Story Fragments: Learn in context with short stories

Spaced Repetition

The app uses spaced repetition to optimize your learning:

  • Cards you struggle with appear more frequently
  • Mastered cards show up less often
  • Your progress is automatically tracked

Tips for Success

1. Set Realistic Goals

Don’t rush! Language learning takes time. Focus on consistency over speed.

2. Create Personalized Lessons

The more relevant the content is to your life, the better you’ll remember it.

3. Practice Daily

Privacy & Data

All your lessons and progress are stored only on your device. We don’t have accounts, tracking, or cloud sync. Your learning is completely private.
